A:I was born in Macon, Georgia where I lived until I was almost 16. I finished high school in a small town called Thomaston. I now live in Atlanta and I couldn't be happier. I have met the guy of my dreams, (who has an amazing son), and I have 2 wonderful dogs. I have been lucky enough to have a career in something that I love doing. I am a hairstylist at Artistry in Buckhead.
Q:When did you begin your fitness career?
A:I have always been into sports. I started playing when I was 5. Actually, I had to play in an all boys t-ball league because there were no girls. After that year, I continued to play softball, (thankfully with girls that wouldn't tackle whoever had the ball). I also played soccer, volleyball, and basketball. I started working out about 6 years ago, but it was nothing compared to the way I work out and eat clean now. I began trading haircuts for training with my boyfriend, who was a friend at the time. Somehow, I think I got the better deal for sure. Richard Wayne continues to prep me for contest now. He has his own training business, Instinct Fitness.
Q:Why did you choose to compete in the NPC?
A:I chose to compete with the NPC because I had heard that it was very competitive. I totally agree, there are so many amazing athletes. I would say that it is the biggest, with some of the best in the industry. I love a challenge and that makes it more exciting.
Q:What does your pre contest diet and workout routine look like?
A:My pre contest diet is very strict but who's isn't? I always keep my protein high, especially on the days where my carbs are pretty low. My diet changes day to day, but some things remain the same. For example, I'm always eating and I'm not the girl that does fasted cardio! It's just not for me. I train weights hard 5 days a week. HIIT cardio is what works for me.
Q:Tell us about House of Payne…
A:House of Payne is a gym located in Lilburn, Georgia- which is about 30 minutes from Atlanta. It is definitely worth the drive. I usually work with Steve Payne and can I just say that he does the best bikini posing and walk. No really, all jokes aside- he has helped me come out of my shell so much, which is crucial for bikini competitors, and I am so grateful for what he has taught me. It's awesome because we get to practice on a stage and it gives you a similar feel of being at a competition. Steve also helps with not only bikini posing but figure, women/men physique, and women/men body building. I am also a part of the House of Payne Team which is really great because it connects me with people who have the same goals. Everyone is really supportive.
Q:Who do you credit with being your greatest inspiration?
A:My greatest inspiration… wait for it… yep… Arnold… he is the best! I think he had such an amazing career in bodybuilding. I mean, he is a legend. I can’t wait until he hands me a trophy. I love that he has taken his career so many places, but the thing that I admire the most is how much he has given back. I think that is so important to help others. I can't wait to be able to be giving back more to help animals, which are my passion to help.
Q:Can you give us all of your social media handles?
