A:Born and raised in Pawtucket, RI.
Q:When did you decide to become a WBFF Fitness Competitor?
A:This year! I always had a passion for fitness, and always wanted to become a fitness model, but I never knew where to begin! It was March of this year that someone had approached me in the gym asking if I have ever considered fitness competitions. It was that point that I met my trainer who prepped me for my first show where I placed 2nd!
Q:Give us your pre competition diet...
A:I eat 5 meals a day, every 3 hours. It consists of balanced, portioned meals of protein, carbs, fats and vegetables.
Q:How do you keep your focus when training to hit the stage?
A:I listen to music before I go on. I imagine myself walking out there, hitting my poses and killing it on stage! It gives me the confidence to get out there and eases my nerves!
Q: What kind of music gets you rocking out at the gym?
A:Hip-Hop, Techno and DubStep! Anything up-tempo and gets me pumped! I’ve been using FitRadio on my phone and it’s amazing!
Q: When you're not at the gym and not on stage, what other hats do you wear?
A:What most people assume as a fitness competitor is that we all are personal trainers. That simply is not the case. I work full-time for Liberty Mutual Insurance in the Risk Engineering Department as a Technical Engineering Assistant. Fit and smart! However, I am currently pursuing my goal of becoming a nutritionist! My classes begin in 2013.
Q: How did you become a fitness model?
A:After competing and placing so well in my first show, the response was overwhelming! I began getting contacted by photographers, newspapers, television and radio stations – it was like a whirlwind! I am truly blessed my career in fitness has become what it is today, and plan on continuing to push myself until I get to the top!
Q:Any funny modeling stories?
A:None in particular, but I can say that back stage at the competitions are a blast! We goof off the whole time and talk about all the foods we are going to eat when it’s all over! It’s like a family with the WBFF! I have a touching story – not necessarily a funny one. At the competition, a girl that I was competing against had ripped her theme wear costume. Her coach tried to patch it up as best as possible but she came up in tears. I saw her crying and began talking to her – telling her to use that passion, those tears, and leave it all out on the stage! She just hugged me and said that if I didn’t talk to her she was about to turn around and go back to the dressing room.
Q:That was kind of you... What future plans do you have concerning your career?
A:I want to continue competing with the WBFF and get my Pro Card as a Diva Fitness Model (which will hopefully be on November 3rd!), I would love to be a sponsored athlete and spokes model for a pristine company. And of course, pursue my career as a nutritionist so that I can help others achieve my same success!
