A:I actually grew up in Pensacola, Florida. Before that I lived in Washington, Virginia, and Hawaii. My mom was in the Navy so we moved around a lot when I was younger. But I've now lived in LA for about 5 years. I would call it my home now.
Q:When did you begin modeling?
A:I began modeling probably when I was around 12-13 years old. Being from a small southern town and having somewhat exotic looks always made me get pushed in that direction, so I guess it's something I've dabbled in for almost as long as I can remember.
Q:Where have you been featured?
A:I've done a lot of look-books and clothing campaigns for brands such as Brixton and US Alteration. I’ve also done ads for Budweiser, Budlight and a few online magazines.
Q:How do you remain fit for your shoots?
A:I stay fit mostly by diet. I definitely do a lot of cardio, ab workouts and squats/lunges. I also enjoy yoga and recently started attending cardio barre classes. It's a pretty easy workout but afterwards I feel like I did a decent workout. It gives me definition where I want it most and I feel that every girl’s most problem area is probably her thighs and backside, so I mostly concentrate on keeping everything firm. I do a lot of meal-prepping: chicken, fish, vegetables, brown rice, brussels sprouts, etc. I enjoy juicing and smoothies. I try to stay away from sugars and processed foods, I don't deprive myself but I never really binge. I keep dark chocolate around in case I get a craving and I only eat a couple squares at a time and not the whole bar.
Q:Shoes or sneakers?
A:Comfort wise I would always choose a pair of sneakers or chucks, but nothing makes you feel sexier than a pair of heels you love. Its good for your posture too!
Q:What's next for you and your career?
A:Next in my career would probably be just finishing my degree and continue modeling. I recently signed with Wilhelmina Hawaii so that’s exciting. I am going back to school in the fall. My next step would hopefully be hosting/broadcasting, something I love to do.
Q:Good luck with that. Can you give us all of your social media handles?
A:I try to stay away from social media, it’s pretty addictive and time consuming. I have a Instagram (@amanda_nic) and a model mayhem page, but no facebook or twitter.
