A:I was born and raised in the city that never sleeps... Miami, Florida. :)
Q:How did the NPC happen?
A:I was your typical college girl. I would party all night, indulge in fast food, and would go to the gym only if I had extra time. This lifestyle was catching up to me, I wasn't happy or confident with myself. My life was beginning to lack any goals and I hated that! I woke up one morning deciding to change it. I did a ton of online research about clean eating and watched millions of YouTube videos on how to properly lift weights. During this research I stumbled across NPC. I admired every single body of every professional athlete I saw, and thought to myself, "I want to look like them!". I soon registered for my first NPC show and it fueled my motivation in the gym and in the kitchen. I earned first place at my first show and my national level debut is this June!
Q:Toughest part about getting stage ready?
A:As crazy as this sounds, taking a day OFF from training. I am definitely addicted to working out, so much that I have a tough time letting my body rest and my muscles grow! The gym is a place where I forget about the world around me and focus entirely on me, it's the best feeling! I also always feel that everyday is another chance for me to make improvements so my mentality gets in the way of letting my body recuperate...so I have to force myself to take days off from lifting to avoid injuries from over training.
Q:I suffer from the same addiction! What's your pre contest diet looking like?
A:My diet is the same year round, contest or not. The only thing I change about it pre contest, is my portion sizes!! I eat way smaller portions 6 times a day. Meals always include a lean protein, veggies, complex carb. I also drink lots of lemon water and green tea. :)
Q:Describe your workout routine...
Saturday-OFF(or some cardio :p)
*Usually start with 10 mins warm up cardio and 20 mins cool down cardio. Closer to contests I increase cardio to 1-2 hrs a day. I also never work out my chest. I incorporate my chest muscles in other exercises I do, and I feel there is no need to train them directly.
Q:What's the pro card plan?
A:THIS YEAR IS MINE!!! haha jk. My goal is to get my pro card this year, and I will do whatever it takes to get it, but if not, then there's always next year. I'm not stopping for anything! :)
Q:When you're not working out, what can we find you doing?
A:EATING!!!!!... (and cooking)... I really think people would be shocked with the amount of food I eat. I am always hungry, so I guess my metabolism must be pretty fast then! I love food! lol... clean options of course! I also have the biggest sweet tooth so you can always find me in the kitchen whipping up some new clean guilt-less desserts! My all time favorite cheats are pizza and sushi rolls!!
Q:Your biggest inspiration...?
A:It’s crazy! I've only been in this industry for about a year and there are already countless of people who inspire me day in and day out! My older sister has always been a great fitness role model/inspiration to me, she has been working out for years! When I was first starting out I used to go to her for tips and advice. I then soon convinced her to compete in NPC too, and she's also going after her pro card this summer! Also, all of the top IFBB bikini pros really inspire me. I love watching them compete and hearing their story, it motivates me to keep going and gives me hope that one day I'll be in their shoes
Q:Favorite leisure activity?
A:THE BEACH! I have lived 15 minutes away from South Florida beaches all my life, and would never want it any other way. My family would take trips to the Keys every other weekend to go jet-skiing and boating. There's nothing better than having fun while getting a nice tan.
Q:Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
A:I see myself graduated from college with a degree in business administration and a career in medical/pharmaceutical sales, successfully competing in the IFBB Professional bikini league, being a personal trainer and inspiring people to live this amazing lifestyle!!!!!!
Q:Cool! Can you give us all of your social media handles?
A:Of course ;)
