A:North Jersey. Born here. Raised here. Still here. Probably will never leave here. Lol
Q:Dirty Jersey! Why did you begin training?
A:I always worked out. I was an All-Star cheerleader for 10 years before going into college. So I always had that conditioning and athleticism. When I got to college I soon realized what happens when you stop playing sports, start eating more food, and drinking more beer, so I turned to the gym. I really didn't know what I was doing, but at least I was there and I wasn't really packing on the pounds. After I graduated I still wasn't really happy with how I was looking. I originally just start googling trainers because I knew I couldn't lose weight and get back into my "cheerleader" body by myself. I came across a fitness team (Team Bombshell) and saw their bikini competitors, this was the first time I was ever seeing such a thing. It clicked in my head, THIS IS WHAT I WANT TO DO! As a cheerleader I loved being part of a team, I loved competing, I loved the glitz and glam and what better way to get back into all that stuff than to be a bikini competitor. So this is my "adult sport" and I love it ! Haha
Q:When did you know that you could compete for a pro card?
A:Well, before my first show ever, I would have dreams of myself winning first place, but I was always like "girl, let's be real! You're not gonna win your FIRST show". Wellllll, my first show came and I won.. both novice and open... I was floored, but I still didn't really know what I was made of until I met my coach, Shannon, for the first time face to face. She gave me a little pep talk & advised me to do nationals that year because she saw that I had the potential. Just having this woman believe I had the potential to be something lit the fire under my ass. Because before that day I would have never even dreamed of winning my pro card. It seemed like a goal too far to reach. I ended up not doing nationals that year and decided to kick major ass my second season. I did 9 BIG shows and I just kept placing amazingly at all of them. I would have people come up to me and tell me that I "had 'that' look" ...and it just made me want to keep pushing harder because I knew my day was coming..
Q:Nice! Tell us about your workout and diet pre contest...
A:My workouts are intense, but my diet is very satisfying to give me the energy I need to get through them. A lot of high rep supersets. I personally like to lift "obtainable" weight, the last 3 reps should be a big struggle. If I don't struggle, I'll add weight and do that set again. I do AM & PM cardio. The amount depends on how I'm progressing. My diet is pretty standard. Protein, carbs, fats. I never cut things like fruit. Nom nom nom. But again, nothing out of the ordinary. Standard healthy prep diet.
Q:Describe being on stage..
A:As much as I love being on stage and being in the spotlight I always get SO nervous before I walk out. But once I'm out there I'm ok. At least I think? Lol. I usually black out haha so being on stage is a huge blur until comparisons. That's when I relax and look out into the crowd and find my mom! Haha and bring on the sexy sass. I practice my posing so much (including facial expressions, hair whips, arm placements) that when I look back a video, I did everything I had practiced seamlessly. I just black out completely though haha.
Q:Favorite cheat meal?
A:My go to is always SPECIFICALLY a cheeseburger with sweet potato fries from the Cheesecake Factory. I get really panic-y when it comes to cheat meals when I'm prepping. I don't want to wait a whole week (or sometimes longer) and then the cheat meal be bad!!! So I just stick to my ol' faithful until I'm in my improvement season. Then I'll "experiment" more with different restaurants or a different menu items. Lol I really love pizza. I mean, I AM from Jersey. But I can't even remember the last time I had a slice :(
Q:Lol... What other projects are you working on?
A:Right now I'm just working on getting ready for my pro debut, :) will probably schedule some photoshoots in the meantime, but not for anything specific.
Q:Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
A:5 years........ I'll be 30. Hmm...... Well I HOPE I'll be competing in the Olympia by that time. I defiently still see myself competing and being in this industry. I have a couple other business/career things that I am working on, in a totally different aspect in my life (somewhat fitness related but not really), but I am going to keep it hush hush since it's still fairly new.
Q:The person most responsible for your success?
A:I really can't pinpoint ONE person. I mean, without the help of all my coaches, in short, I would be LOST. Second, my parents. The coolest efffin' people. They have my back 100%. Anything I need they GOT it. And last, would it be selfish to say myself? Let's face it, I'm the one in the gym everyday and it's my willpower to not pound down a cheesecake everyday. Haha!
Q:Heels or sneakers?
A:That's easy. SNEAKERS.
I have a crap load of heels, but I don't wear them much anymore unless it's a special occasion. I am a SNEAKER HEAD. I have sneakers to match pretty much any outfit.
