A:I'm from Yonkers New York. I was born in Miami Florida. As far as my background, I am Brazilian, Ecuadorian and Italian. Mom is the Latin and my father is the Italian.
Q:What kind of kid would you say you were growing up?
A:Growing up I have to say I was always the "trouble maker", I never listened according to mom. Yet I always wanted to be Independent. I always wanted to "discover" ways of fixing things and just wanted to be all over the place. So I guess I was not a calm child lol. Also I was always the chubby one. So I used to get picked on a lot. Growing up I did have a problem with weight and how to handle it was not very good.
Q:When did you know you wanted to seriously get into fitness?
A:I decided to seriously change my life and be healthy once my mom had a stroke. It gave me a wake up call. I was doing terrible things just to lose weight like not eating, vomiting after meals, even thought about surgery. Once my mom got sick I had a wake up call that I can't do this to myself because I have a little brother I still need to watch out for. I knew right there and then I needed to be healthy! No one should take their health for granted! You only get one body so treat it right. I started searching and browsing for foods with low carbs, different exercises, and I also met people at the gym that I looked up too and always were so kind to help me. Another role model I looked up too was Karim Ramos. I read his story, how he was a chubby kid and the struggles. These were similar to mine and I knew I could do it. So started from there and now all I do is follow a healthy lifestyle. I don't call it a diet.. I just like being healthy!
Q:Tell us how you're preparing for your WBFF debut?
A:I am currently on a "shredding mode", high intensity workouts, strict meals and keeping myself strict. I plan my meals always ahead of time. I go to the gym twice a day. I do morning cardio and at night after work, I do weights. I'm seeing more results as weeks go by.
Q:When you're not training, you're usually?
A:When I'm on my days off training, I'm usually again at the gym... it's so addicting!! I tend to give my body a rest by just doing some cardio, going for a swim or going to a steam room. I spend time with my mom take her out to eat, ( I always research new meals to make). Most importantly I always keep myself active and busy either with mom or my family.
Q:Who has been your greatest inspiration?
A:Karim Ramos, reading his book & hanging out with him has been the most amazing experience and I'm honored to have him in my life. I do look up to him and he inspires me to never give up and has showed me how struggles just makes us stronger, and he's right! Everything I have been through has made me a better person, and kept me alive!
