A:I was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil and I came to New York in October, 2004. After many times competing here in NY, I just fell in love and thought it would be a great opportunity to grow my business and raise my two daughters here.
Q:Describe your journey all the way up until you became an IFBB pro bodybuilder...
A:My career in competing actually began as a fitness competitor. I did enjoy the years of practicing and perfecting my routine for the stage, but the wear and tear and high impact nature of the fitness category caused me to transition to the sport of Figure. I competed for a few years and then took a break from competition to pursue other goals and interests. When the IFBB created the Physique category, it reignited my competitive fire because I knew this category was made for my body type!
Q:The most difficult aspect of getting ready for the stage would be...?
A:Well diet and training come with the territory and that never bothers me like it does most athletes. Probably the most challenging aspect is juggling the day to day responsibilities along with training, posing, cooking meals, etc... But I like to look at it as though I am competing everyday, not just when I step on stage because, in reality, it is what we do as athletes day to day that lead to our success on stage.
Q:Contrast your off season and pre contest diet...
A:My offseason diet is not much different than per contest other than I am eating much more of the same foods, especially carbohydrates, everyone's favorite! My pre contest diet is a lot of lean protein, mostly from chicken or ground turkey. For fats I use some organic almond butter or a little olive oil with my greens.
Q:Describe your typical week long training routine..
A:Lots of cardio! I usually start my day with an hour in the morning and then one after my weight training at night, usually another hour. I will look at how my body is responding and I will either add more or back off a little bit depending on if I'm looking too flat or not. I alternate my weight training between upper body and lower body days and I will work weaker body parts first in the week when they are fresh.
Q:How did you become a fitness model?
A:I didn't actively pursue to be a fitness model. After winning my very first show, I got invited to do my first photoshoot.
Q:Where have you been featured?
A:All Brazilian Fitness Magazine, Planet Muscle and Oxygen in USA.
Q:Favorite cheat meal?
A:Chocolate "Toblerone" and full body red wine.
Q:Favorite movie of all time..?
A:Bucket list. It's complicated.
Q:Can you give us all of your social media handles?
