A:I"m 46 years old, born and raised in New York. Actually I lived in Astoria, Queens till the age of 5 and then my family moved out to Long Island. I continue to reside in Long Island, NY.
Q:How old were you when you first picked up a weight?
A:I started lifting weights when I was 18 yrs old following an accident when I was hit by a car while riding my bike to school. It was nothing too serious, but my leg got pretty banged up and the doctor suggested I start lifting weights. My cousin, Chino, had just returned from Florida and was HUGE so I picked his brain, and I became hooked.
Q:What does a typical week long workout routine look like for you?
A:I'm presently doing a 2 days on 1 day off, then 3 days on 1 day off. It's been working great cause it's giving me the time off necessary to recuperate. I do back on the 1st day, chest is next, off, legs, shoulders and finish with arms before taking another day off.
Q:What does your diet look like in a typical 24 hour span?
A:My diet stays pretty constant all year long. The only thing that differs is my carbohydrate intake.
Meal 1- 1 cup oatmeal , 2 scoops whey protein
Meal 2- 9 eggs(5 yolks), 1 cup rice
Meal 3- 10 oz chicken or turkey, 1/2 cup rice
Meal 4- 8 oz angus burger, baked potato
Meal 5- 10 oz chicken or turkey, 1/2 cup rice
Meal 6- 10 oz chicken or fish, salad
Q:What is your can't live without supplement?
A:Right now my "Can't live without supplement" would be Evogen Nutrition's Cell-Kem and Glyco ject. Evogen is the supplement line created by the #1 diet guru, Hany Rambod. The stuff works great! I worked with Hany the last 3 years and he completely morphed my physique and taught me a bunch about nutrition. As a matter of fact, I was one of his guinea pig for his products .
Q:What is your favorite body part to train and why?
A:My favorite bodypart to train has always been LEGS.
Q:Is bodybuilding your full time job or do you where other hats?
A:Bodybuilding is my passion and hobby. I'm a full-time chiropractor and certified Active Release Techniques provider.
Q:If you had to pick one person who you would credit as being your biggest inspiration in life, who would it be and why?
A:In life we have many mentors, and if you're smart, you take a little from each one of them and become great from it. But, the person in my life who has inspired me and supported me in EVERYTHING is my Mom! She taught me how to follow my dreams and to "never give up". Always insisting and reminding me that I will be someone as long as I continue trying my best. THANKS MOM.
Q:Awesome. What advice would you give to the kid who went to the gym for the first time today?
A:For the kids just starting out at the gym, I always give the same advice.....stick with the basic exercises, take rest days and eat a ton of good food.
