A:I was born and raised in the Netherlands, Antilles Island called Curacao. It's a Dutch Island in the Caribbean near Aruba.
Q:Tell us about your early childhood...
A:Early childhood; I was born and raised in a multicultural background and strict martial arts family. My father is an 8th degree black belt grand master in tae-kwon-do and started teaching me at the age of 4. I obtained a swimming diploma A & B by the age of 5. By the age of 6 I learned how to play the piano. By the age of 9, I became a certified black belt in tae-kwon-do. By the age of 10, my family and I left Curacao and moved by my grandfathers, in Brooklyn NY, for a better future and to live the American dream. By the age of 10, I spoke 4 languages fluent: Papiamento, Dutch, Spanish and English.
Q:Impressive! How did you become a model?
A:I got my break as a model when my high school best friend took me in with her on a modeling interview with a NYC agency. It ended up being a scam, but it opened up a door that I didn’t think was there. After meeting with a new NYC agent, I started booking shoots and that led to multiple magazine spreads and jobs. One job led to another, which opened doors for me in the music video world. It is in the music video world that I got to be able to work with artist such as Britney Spears, Drake, Kanye West, Jamie Foxx, Ryan Leslie, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, David Guetta, Lenny Kravitz and many more! Then I landed the lead nemesis in Nicki Minaj, "Your Love" music video which was an instant hit- and I was fortunate to be able to showcase my martial arts ability, (which was such an incredible experience, and what a blast to work with Nicki).
Q:How do you remain fit for your photo shoots?
A:I remain fit by training my own personal clients, remaining active and eating clean. Ohh- did I tell you? I run a modelfit fitness business, which is a method that caters to women health and body transformation. It was created by my mentor Justin Gelband, who is known for training supermodels such as Miranda Kerr, Candice, Kate Upton- let’s say the VS (Victoria Secret) Angels. It was designed for runway and print supermodels to create a body that is lean, elongated and strong; modelfit- not model thin. It was through my health and fitness passion and extensive martial arts background and through a chance meeting with my mentor Justin Gelband that I got involved into training and empowering women. Look out for the grand opening of modelfit studio in NYC this March, near Soho.
Q:Hey that’s around my ol hood! How did you get involved in acting?
A:I participated in the drama department throughout my high school years. I got my break into musical theater and landed roles in plays such as Robin Hood, Fiddler on the Roof, Bye Bye Birdie and Annie. At 17, I won a superstar search for best actress and 5 years later moved to LA to pursue acting full time. It’s been my passion ever since!
Q:Where have you been featured?
A:I've been featured in variety of magazines such as Maxim, Muscle and Fitness, Fighter, Men’s Fitness, Moda Magazine, and many more. I’ve also been featured in television shows, commercials, movies and tons of music videos.
Q: What do you love about martial arts?
A:I love the confidence it instills in you. The mental, physical and emotional strength it provides for you. I recommend martial arts for every child. I believe it has instilled a massive amount of discipline, structure in my life and a winner attitude growing up. I am where I am today because of my over 22 years extensive background in martial arts. Thank you father.
Q:Who's your biggest inspiration?
A:My biggest inspiration is my father. Grandmaster Andy Wever, who dedicated his life to his students, my mother, my sister and I. His determination and strength to never give up, his love and gratitude to us and his compassion to others. The courageous choices he had to make to never fail us, and to bless us with love and stability. My father is my hero!
Q:Can you give us all of your social media handles?
