Q:Describe the journey to becoming an NPC competitor...
A:I kind of fell into it. I started working out to get back in shape. I was working out everyday and I was seeing great results, so good in fact that people started asking if I compete. "Compete? In what?” … I had no clue what they were talking about. They said, “bodybuilding”. I had never even thought about doing a competition. I started to consider it, so I went to my first competition and I was immediately addicted. I got in contact with an old friend, Ryan Stephani, and he did my diet for my first competition. I had my first competition May 28, 2011 and my second one December 3, 2011. I love bodybuilding with a passion but I love being healthier better. At the beginning of this year, I decided to switch to Men's Physique. The reason I chose physique is because it's easier to attain year round, I can get more work, (photo shoots, commercials, etc...), and most importantly, it's SOOOO much healthier that bodybuilding. I competed June 23 and August 11 of this year in physique. My next and last show of this year will be Excalibur on December 1st in Culver City, Ca.
Q:Are you seeking that pro card?
A:Getting my pro card is a goal of mine. It's not my one and only goal, though. It's one of my many goals I have, being in fitness.
Q:Describe your workout routine and diet, pre contest and off season...
A:On & Off Season:
*Alternate days with abs and calves
-Off season- cardio when I feel like it
-On Season- Empty stomach cardio first thing in the morning
Q:You're a meal planner. How does that work?
A:I have people send me their age, height, weight, current workout routine, currents pictures, goal weight and body fat %, food they hate and/or are allergic to and based off of all of those, I custom make a meal plan for their specific needs. They include:
-Alterations if needed
-Supplement and vitamin advice
Q:How did you become a personal trainer?
A:It started after my first competition. I had sooooo many people message me about my current workout routine and if I would be able to train them. The demand was so high that I couldn't not train them. I rushed to get certified so I could start helping people get to their dream body.
Q:Funniest personal trainer story?
A:I was training a girl on abs. She was worn out. It was her last set and I had her do crunches to failure. I was counting, "79, 80, 81, 82" and then she accidentally let out a huge fart! She was soooooo embarrassed. It was awesome! The next time she came in to train, I brought air freshener as a joke. She punched me in the arm, but she was a good sport about it.
