A:I was born in Pontefract, West Yorkshire, but grew up between York and Selby in a tiny village called Kelfield. It was literally one of those places that if you blinked driving through, you missed it. There was one pub and a post office, which was also the local shop and everyone knew each other, drove me bat shit crazy haha!
Q:When did you realize fitness would be your career path?
A:As for fitness being my career path, I didn't know it would be! I always knew it would be a massive part of my life and lifestyle, but making a career out of it has been a huge blessing. As well as modelling, I recently started a 'FevFit' bootcamp where I live in Featherstone. The overwhelming sense of pride and fulfilment you feel when you see someone walk a little taller and with a bounce in their step because you've helped them is just unreal. There's no truer saying than "do something you love and you'll never work a day in your life”.
Q:Ok, secret to the abs brother? And what body fat do you maintain?
A:Ah, the resounding question. Well mine are just tattoo'd on! Haha! It's no new secret or magical way of training, it's simply a good balanced diet and the same with training. To make them really pop and cut deep, my two main movements are leg raises & weighted crushes. I agree with the saying that "abs are made in the kitchen", you're not really going to see any lines but your outline unless your body fat is 10% or under. I usually walk at 10% and drop to 8-6% when required, or when I competed I was down to 4%, but only out of necessity for the comp.
Q:Can you give us your diet?
A:I don't really 'diet' as such. The only time I get the scales out and monitor macros, etc.. is if I'm competing or have a photo shoot booked that has requested that I be in that condition. Otherwise I just have a healthy balanced diet. I was brought up eating healthy and well so I enjoy all meats and love vegetables. I enjoy being creative with food too, so I'm always putting tasty, healthy dishes together in the kitchen. I also believe that variety is the spice of life and always finding and I believe in trying new dishes or cooking techniques.
Q:How about your workout plan?
A:I mix up my training as much as I can to keep my body guessing. I prefer being fit and having tactical working muscle rather than size. I do HIIT probably twice/three times a week as well as weight training. As I said earlier I run a boot camp and I also have dogs, so I get plenty of cardio through both of those.
Q:Tell us about your sponsors...
A:My sponsor is Affordable Supplements (affordablesupplements.co.uk). I'm truly lucky to be sponsored by these guys. The CEO, Antony Miller, used to compete (bodybuilding) and this guy has forgotten more than I know- haha! I have a great respect for him and his business as he and his brother built it from nothing, but on a great foundation of knowledge and experience. He has now released a 'Beast' range that grew from there being gaps in the market for good supplements. Antony has now actually designed and created some of the best supps on the market through his Beast range. To have his support, knowledge and expertise on hand is a massive benefit to me. Antony is the most humble guy I know. Always at the end of a phone and only too happy to help me with his infinite wisdom, we actually band around a few Rocky or Rambo quotes to keep each other motivated haha!
Q:You have a chance to parachute from a helicopter or swim with a killer whale. Which do you choose?
A:Damn that's a hard question! I've kept reading this, going away and thinking about it, and coming back... I'd LOVE to do both! But I'd have to choose to swim with a killer whale. To experience the awesome power of such a beautiful mammal in it's own surroundings would be quite spectacular! (As long as it didn't eat me).
Q:Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
A:In 5 years I see myself... 5 years older.. haha! Well I'm booked to star in my first role in a short movie set to start filming in June, which I'm totally stoked about! I wanted to be an actor as a kid and that's still the path I want to take. Van Damme, Stallone and Arnie are getting a little older now, so think we're due a new action hero. I can see me filling that void. Either way I see myself being something big. I've had that gut feeling since I was a kid too.
Q:I wish you all the luck in the world! Can you give us all of your social media handles?
