A:I'm from Ramsey in Northern New Jersey.
Q:What do you remember most about your early childhood?
A:I remember always being active. At that time I was a dancer and a gymnast. It was a crazy schedule for my parents and myself but I loved both activities and I still do!
Q:When was the first time you realized health and fitness would be part of your life?
A:Probably about a year ago. I never had to worry about what I ate or exercising until I turned 20 or 21 years old. At that point I was the heaviest I had been in my life and my boyfriend started to help me with working out and nutrition. I wasn't seeing the results I wanted and was extremely unhappy with myself. I finally decided I wanted to work with a personal trainer and after doing some research I decided to work with IFBB Bikini Pro Tabitha Klausen. My goal was just to get in shape and lose the extra pounds I had gained over the past year. About three months into working with her, I decided I wanted to compete in bikini. Working with Tabi has been one of the best decisions I have made. Not only is she my coach but she is my friend and one of the reasons I have stuck with living a healthy lifestyle. Health and fitness will definitely be a BIG part of my future!
Q:What diet and workout tips do you recommend?
A:My best advice would be to drink your water, eat 5-6 clean meals a day, lift heavy, get enough sleep, and trust the process! Trusting the process is probably the hardest part out of all of it but you need to stay positive when you get discouraged. Changes are happening to your body even when you don't notice them! Have fun with your meals, eating healthy doesn't have to be boring. The more you switch things up and have fun with your foods, the more likely it is that you will continue eating healthy. You have to remember it's not a quick fix but it's totally worth it!
Q:What's on your gym music list right now?
A:My gym music changes weekly but right now : Mirrors - Justin Timberlake, Back to Love - Jay Sean, Can’t Hold Us - Macklemore, My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark - Fall Out Boy and a couple of deejay mixes made by my boyfriend.
Q:What's your favorite cheat meal?
A:My favorite cheat meal is sushi or a really good cuban meal, (I'm cuban, the food is AMAZING).
Q:Are you a gym clothes or dress and heels type of woman?
A:I would have to say I am a gym clothes type of woman. I wasn't always this way but 9 times out of 10 if you see me out anywhere I'm in gym clothes and sneakers. Don't get me wrong I love getting dressed up to go out but I'm more comfortable in gym clothes.
Q:Your greatest inspiration would be. ..?
A:My greatest inspiration would be my Grandma, she is a 12 almost 13 year breast cancer survivor. Since being diagnosed in 2000, she has walked a 2 day-40 mile breast cancer walk every year and last year we did it together! She is amazing and a perfect example of how anything is possible! Many people would have been ready to throw in the towel after a cancer diagnosis but she hit the ground running & at at the age of 60, she is healthier and more active than many people my age,( if that doesn't inspire you to get off your butt then I don't know what will haha)! My grandma has also been one of my biggest supporters when it comes to getting into shape, eating healthy, and competing.
