A:I’m originally from Brick City, Newark New Jersey.... lol yeah people always seem to be surprised when I tell them. I’m currently still in N.J., but in Union County.
Q:How difficult was it growing up across one of the most dangerous projects in Newark, Pennington Courts?
A:My parents made the best of it.They protected me from the drug dealers, gang violence and other dangers that existed. Our lil apartment was my haven. My parents enrolled me into private schooling since I was 5 and made sure I got the best education I could get.
Q:Describe how you were discovered off Myspace?
A:At the time I had over 100K followers, I was neck and neck with Tila Tequila, remember her? But I was just a regular girl with cell phone pics and she was an aspiring model/artist. I was on Myspace with no intention of being "famous", so when I fell in love, I took it down. But I kept in touch with people who seem interesting like make up artist, etc... It wasn’t until a bad breakup that I ventured back and was able to be seen on my friends profile. The snowball effect grew and grew and now we are at “Team Vice” today.
Q:In 2009 you appeared on the Tyra Bank Show. How nervous were you?
A:I was very nervous!!! When I got called to appear on the show they never told me it was contest, (I hate contest). They said they needed girls in the audience that looked like Kim. I really don’t think I look like Kim but it sounded fun and I wanted to meet Tyra. Never did I imagine me winning a Kim look alike contest, picked by Kim herself and Tyra.
Q:That seemed to be the launch of your modeling career. Describe the experience of being in front of the cameras...
A:Ironically, no. No one knew who I was, I didn’t have a PR team to follow through with the "title" so it kinda just fell through the cracks. People who watch the show had no idea I was a model, even I didn’t know I was a model, lol. I must have been in the "industry" barely 5 months. My breaking point really came the following year when I landed my first cover on O.Y.E Magazine, a magazine that has had several of my favorite latinas on their cover, such as Eva Longoria, Sofia Vergara and Vida Guerra.
Q:How do you stay in shape? Describe your diet as well...
A:Oh man I've been so bad the last 3 years. I don’t diet, I don’t work out but I do eat right and stay active. For example, I don’t eat fast foods unless I HAVE to get something in my system and I’m always on the move with working at the ER or shooting.
Q:How is the acting career going so far?
A:I just shot a made for TV film for SPIKE TV that airs this fall, I believe late October, early November. For not having any management I think I've been fortunate to have been discovered, lol. They found me down the shore at Club Karma while filming for the Jersey Shore. LIFE is funny right? Most of my big projects have been random, just like with Tyra.
Q:Life is definitely funny... You also have a full time job at the Psychiatric ER. How do you balance the rest of your career obligations?
A:At first it was hard, especially when I just started. My schedule was so nuts and after working in the ER for 6 years, I now have a set schedule where I work two 16 hour shifts and then I’m off 5 consecutive days. It allows me to have a social life, a romantic life and still work in the industry without wearing myself thin.
Q:Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years?
A:I’m doing music now. Finished recording my song and this past Friday I filmed the music video, directed by James "Latin Legend" Clark. I hope that 5 years from now I'll still be doing music, but music is my first love. I'm using my foundation with the modeling to get heard and be seen. I would love to get involved in more TV work. So let’s see what happens...
Q:Can you list your Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, website and/or blogs for your fans to follow you?
