A:I am from Latvia, former Republic of Russia..many people haven't heard of it so I usually just say Russian, since I speak the language. But I came to the US when I was 2 and grew up in New York and then moved to Philadelphia before moving to Las Vegas.
Q:How did winning the big one feel?
A:Wow! I don't think it has quite hit me yet, but winning the JR. Nationals in Chicago June 14-15 was really amazing. This was my 3rd National show and I have been working towards this for almost 2 years.
Q:How was your diet prep leading up to the competition?
A:Kim Oddo who is my coach and trainer did my diet this time I was definitely fuller than other shows and eating much more than in the past. So 6 small meals a day eating clean every 2-3 hours lots of chicken and fish, veggies, sweet potatoes and brown rice.
Q:What kind of workout routine were you doing pre contest?
A:My workouts were similar to previous contests preps... I worked out everyday, and split my cardio and weight training up. I also incorporated Pilates since I am a certified Balanced Body instructor. I've learned that this is a sport of discipline and patience as well, it takes time to see the changes in your body and the more you train and the consistent you are the results will follow.
Q:Tell us about your modeling career...
A:I've been modeling since the age of 12 so I'm used to being in front of people, posing, and on stage etc... In my late 20's I stopped modeling and in my 30's my career has picked up again- crazy!
Q:What can we find you doing when you're not on stage or modeling?
A:When I'm not modeling I love to travel and spend time with my poodles! I'm a huge animal lover.
Q:What's the one thing we would be surprised to know about you?
A:The one thing that would surprise you about me is that at one point in my life I was in an extremely difficult relationship that made me feel defeated and not worthy of anything but I used all of that negativity to fuel me to succeed and to be the always happy and positive person today.
Q:Your biggest inspiration. ..?
A:My biggest inspiration is other peoples stories of overcoming hardships and still smiling and living. No matter what everyone has a story of being defeated and those that get back up and wipe the dust off and continue to pursue their dreams and live are the ones that inspire me.
