A:Originally I'm from Santa Barbara, CA, but I did grow up in Kona, on the big island. For the past 15 years I have lived on the island of Oahu.
Q:Best place to eat in Hawaii?
A:Ooo, this is a tough one. There are so many amazing places to eat in Hawaii. My favorite fine dining is definitely Alan Wongs, then Town Restaurant is hard to beat. Their menu is set daily using all locally grown produces, fresh fish and meat.
Q:Awesome. When did you decide to compete?
A:My competition career actually happened quite quickly. I jumped in at the tail end of 2012, did only one show, then I went full speed in 2013.
Q:Describe being on stage...
A:My first competition I was so nervous, I had no idea what being on stage would feel like. It was a total adrenalin rush and I loved it! Very nerve wracking but also very empowering!
Q:Tell us about your own pre contest workout routine and diet...
A:When I'm in prep for a show it is very straight forward. I have a plan and I stick to it 100%. I'm eating between 4-6 meals a day depending on where I am in my prep. I don't do any extreme dieting, my meals stay pretty consistent, with a balance of lean protein, good carbs and lots of veggies. Training is the same, consistency is key! I'm in the weight room 5 days a week training glutes and legs 3 times a week and arms, shoulders, back and abs on the other two. Cardio is twice a day 6 days a week as I close in on a show.
Q:How did you hook up with Team Bombshell?
A:I was basically recruited by Pollianna Moss, who at the time was the only bikini pro in Hawaii. Now there are 3 of us, and we are all Team Bombshell.
Q:What other projects are you working on?
A:I am currently in prep for my 2015 competition season, so I'm training hard for that as well as a few photo shoots coming up. I just recently released my own blog, EatTrainLoveBlog.com where I will be talking about all my favorite things fitness, health, nutrition and lifestyle related!
On the professional front, I'm super busy building a health coaching practice here in Hawaii.
Q:Can you give us all of your social media handles?
