IFBB Competitor & Personal Trainer Kristina Rojas
Interview with IFBB Competitor & Personal Trainer Kristina Rojas aka @KLrojas
Q:Let's start off easy. Where were you born and raised, and where do you call home now a days?
A:I was born and raised in McAllen, TX also known as the Rio Grande Valley. I’ve lived here all my life.
Q:Describe the thought process when you first knew you wanted to become a IFBB competitor..
A:Well this is a great question! I started competing at age 19 in fitness for fun and absolutely fell in love it! I ended up obtaining my pro card at age 20 at my 1st NPC Fitness Nationals show! At that time in my life I didn't really know what an IFBB Pro was or what it was all about being that I was young and just started competing. The day I turned pro was very exciting and at that time I began to realize what I just earned! Since then, I feel very blessed and thankful for this accomplishment! I’ve grown into the sport and just love it!
Q:What does a typical week long workout routine look like for Kristina?
A:As of right now I’m currently offseason so I’m currently off of cardio. My weight training routine is as follows:
Monday - ladder circuit in the am, back and hamstrings in the pm
Tuesday - chest and biceps
Wednesday - barbell complexes
Thursday - quads and calves
Friday - shoulders and triceps
Saturday - barbell complexes
Q:Can you give us your off season and pre contest diets?
A:In the offseason I increase my calorie intake and make sure I’m eating all food groups. I eat a variety of foods and don’t restrict anything. I still eat very clean and include 1 or 2 cheat meals per week. I do eat more dairy and complex carbs from yogurt, oatmeal, brown rice, sweet potatoes, white potatoes, etc...
Pre contest I eat the same anywhere from egg whites, chicken, fish, steak, sweet potato, white potato,.oats, brown rice, almonds, and fruits.
Q:What do you do when you're not competing? What are your other occupations if any?
A:When I'm not competing I love to spend time with my family, doing things I was not able to do during competition season. I love the outdoors and love to go fishing with my dad! I am a certified personal trainer and sports nutritionist. I just graduated college in May with a Bachelors in Dietetics and I’m on my way to becoming a Registered Dietitian!
Q:Sneakers or heels type of woman?
A:Totally a sneakers kind of woman.. but rock the heels every now and then!
Q:Describe your ideal man?
A:My ideal man is one who shows me respect and appreciation! Who’s actions speak louder than words! A man who takes good care of himself and knows what he wants. Someone who tells me I’m beautiful instead of hot. Someone who wants to show me off to the world, who holds my hand in front of his friends and thinks I'm just as pretty without makeup on. Someone who constantly reminds me of how much he cares and loves being with me and that he’s the luckiest guy in the world!
Q:Nice...favorite movie of all time?
A:Transformers!
Q:You're on death row and they are giving you one last meal. What is it?
A:Sushi and ice cream for dessert!
Q:Where do you see your career in 10 years?
A:I see myself as a successful woman with my own dietetic practice and training studio!
Q:Do you have any website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest or blog links for the people to get in contact with you or just learn more about you?
